Sizzler’s Family Restaurant, Gateway Hotel

Resortium Project – Coral Seas Hotels, Papua New Guinea
In late 2015 we were contacted by Cullen Feng Architects in Sydney and asked to quote for the supply of furniture for Sizzler’s Family Restaurant at the Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby—one of the hotels in the Coral Seas Hotel chain. Having worked with Cullen Feng on the supply of furniture for the Jacksons Bar and Gaming Restaurant, another dining venue at the Gateway Hotel, I was very pleased to be collaborating with them again on this project.
Custom made Tasmanian oak dining tables were manufactured at our supplier’s factory in Brisbane and the dining chairs were sourced from Europe through one of our many wholesalers. Their design concepts for the artwork and mirrors, which feature on the walls of the restaurant, are very interesting.
Mirror frames in gold powder coat which we had specially fabricated, some with mirror glass and some with quilted fabric panels.
The artwork includes a series of black and white photographs of early picturesque scenes of Papua New Guinea, which were framed in black frames.

The artwork also includes colour prints of Papua New Guinea postal stamps, which we had framed in gold frames.

Sizzler’s opened on 1 November 2016.

We wish them all the best and are delighted to have had a part in the opening of their new restaurant.
